The previous homeowner did not have the installed properly, so over time it had been letting moisture in which molded some of the baseboard, subfloor, as well as drywall. Lucky for us, our neighbor is Mr. Fixit and has a "Mary Poppins" garage with practically every tool you can imagine.

The hole is now patched now on to another "one-ism" project. Yes, we ran into a lot of "extra-isms" throughout the whole project. Patience, patience patience.

Once again it has been forever since I've posted anything. We have been so busy finishing our house project that I haven't had time for anything else. It was a lot of work and it took longer then we expected or ever wanted, but it was all worth it in the end. Not only does everything look awesome, it also got my mind off being pregnant for the past three months. The time flew by so quickly that I can't even believe I'm having this little precious girl in the next 3 weeks. Yipeee!!!

Whoever thought that carpet was a good idea in the Diningroom, never had children!!

There it goes, finally!!!!

Preston's face says it all.

Because I was already 6 months along, I wasn't allowed to pull out carpet, but I did a dang good job at pulling out all 1 million staples that were in our floor. Lucky Me!!!

What a "Fun" surprise it was to find out that the patio door wasn't put in properly by the previous owner and therefore water had molded the baseboard, drywall and part of the subfloor.

About an hour later, we're finished with the carpet. Now onto the linoleum in the kitchen.
(Little did we know there were speed bumps ahead and we ended up living with the Diningroom this way for the next month.)

~The Kitchen~

Thank heavens the Linoleum came out really easy.

The subfloor wasn't too bad. Lucky for us they didn't put that much glue down.

Out goes the stove, and onto the subfloor underneath.

Now to the subfloor under the fridge.

Now the cleanup. Abigail loves to help out especially when she gets to use our camping broom.

I'm not sure what to say about this picture. Other than......that's my little Aaron!

Abigail and Aaron have had so much fun playing out back in the snow this winter. I enjoy watching them from inside, of course. By the time I get them all bundled up and sent outside, it's only a short time until they want to come back inside for a nice big mug of hot chocolate.

Once again it's been forever since I've posted something new. We have been busy with a lot of house projects since the new year. We figured it was now or never with our new little "Girl" due in May and Preston will be busy with Scout Camps all summer long. Not to mention our Ward Camp Out that I'm in charge of. This should be fun with 3 kids under 4 and one of them is only a month old. Wish us luck!!
Anyhow, back to the house projects. We finally (emphasis on the finally) painted our bedroom, and of course the kids had to help out. I figured I better let them help as much as possible since I remember that "will to help" usually fades away when they get older. Here are a few pics of them painting with us.

This past year, Abigail has been going to preschool and she loves it. And most of all, I love it. I love to see her excitement to show me everything in her little backpack. It's so cute!!!! I am amazed at home much she as learned so far. From her letters, colors, writing her name to even memorizing the pledge of allegiance. This past December, she went on her first big field trip to the Living Aquarium. That is a fun place. I even was amazed at all of the fish and the fact that you can touch live sting rays. Awesome! I think my favorite part though was the jellyfish and maybe the kids reaction to the octopus. Abigail was terrified. She wouldn't even stand near the tank to get a picture next to it.

Well, I keep looking at my blog hoping that something new has been added....Funny thing is....I'm the one who has to add it. You'd think they would have invented some way for busy moms to update their blog by just thinking about it.

A lot has happened since my last post. Hummmm...where to begin. Maybe with the fact that I am expecting our third little one. I am now 21 weeks today. Yipeee!!!! No more nausea! This round of nausea was really hard on me. I felt confused at what I could eat. One thing I could eat with Abigail's pregnancy I couldn't with Aaron's. And vice versa. I was miserable. Thank heavens for an understanding husband.

So....now I am out of the "nausea" phase and now in the "get bigger" phase. Yippee! (this is said with a lot of sarcasm) There are 6 other women in my ward who are also expecting around the same time. The majority of them, however, weighed no more than my right leg to start with. Oh well, at least I have easy deliveries. These birthing hips do come in handy for at least that. J/K
I am just thrilled to finally be expecting again. And I love seeing the same excitement in my kids eyes. They can't wait. I get ultrasounds at every visit with my new clinic so my kids have been able to see the baby grow and even hear the heartbeat. If you ask Abigail how big the baby is, she say's "like 2 sticks of butter". Oh, and that "she has arms, two hands, legs.....a head, and a bum." The bum part is her favorite to say. She just cracks me up. Aaron just kisses my tummy whenever he gets the chance. Definitely a lover and not a fighter. Just like his Daddy! I will be finding out for sure on my next visit what were having since the little one was being too shy at the last one. Which I find really funny because there isn't a shy one in our bunch so far.

Earlier this fall I had the opportunity to learn how to can peaches. I had so much fun. And what made it even more special was sitting there with my Mother and my Daughter. Three generations of canners!!! Abigail had so much fun canning her own jar. The peaches are cut really small....but it was still really cute to see how excited she was to hold her own jar. Aaron just had fun cutting up anything my mom had lying on her table. I swear he is our mini Bobby Flay. Thank you Mom for inviting us over and teaching us how to can. We did 31 jars of yummy peaches that are now in my food storage. Yummmmyyyy!!!!

Smile

The other day, when our family was out and about, we found ourselves shopping at Sam's Club. We picked up a few items and were leaving the store. Abigail asked if she could hold the receipt and ask the exit clerk if she could have a smiley face. The clerk quickly agreed and drew her a big smiley face on the back of the receipt. This really made her day!

This interaction, insignificant to some, really touched me and helped me to remember that even though our family has had some hard times with the loss of my job, that there are still many blessings to be thankful for. There is always room for a smile!

How many times have we passed someone in the store, the sidewalk or even in our own family and we have forgotten to smile? I have been reminded during these tough times that smiling is something that you can give to others without saying anything at all and it doesn't cost a thing! Our world is so busy finding ways to get ahead of others, be better than others, make ourselves look good, show no weakness, etc.. we forget that we are all needing some form of acceptance, love and friendship. After all, when work is done and the money has been spent, our family and friends- true friends- love us no matter what- they love us because we have given a little bit of ourselves to them- through laughter, kind words or even just a smile!

I loved going to the Bountiful Parade each year. Most of the years, my family had the opportunity to walk in the parade as pioneers. The past couple of years, however, I see less and less pioneers and more sponsored floats for advertising. Sad.....but I still enjoy it. It's Tradition!! To gather the family together and enjoy our front row seats on my Aunt Gina's lawn. I love it even more now that I can share it with my children. This year Preston had to work late so he missed the parade, but at least he made it to the fireworks later on that night. Don't you like our patriotic tattoos!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

We were also able to squeeze in a quick trip to Phoenix, Arizona to visit my brother Jonathon and his wife Wendy. The kids really had fun visiting with their cousins. There is something in the water down there because my Sister-in-law just had her 5th girl. Poor Aaron was the only boy in a sea of 6 girls. By the time we left he was running around the house with princess shoes and a pink purse. I was getting a little worried until I saw him running the barbie car into the barbies. That's my boy!!! We had tons of fun swimming, playing games, dancing to my brother's loud music, celebrating Preston's 30th, and having some really yummy Mexican food at the original Garcia's Restaurant.

We have had a fun summer camping. This trip to the Spruces campground, was our first time we had camped just ourselves. At first I was a little nervous, but knowing that my husband would be there to protect us brought me a lot of comfort. I love being married to a righteous husband who respects his priesthood and is also an eagle scout. My 4-h skills don't help much in the wild....food yes, survival....not so much.
