I attempted to give Aaron a haircut but that didn't go so well. Luckily for me, Grandma was ready and willing to finish the job. The other day I picked up a nicer pair of hair clippers so it will go faster. I hope to give it a second try this weekend. Wish me luck!

We came in one day to have lunch with Grandma Barlow and Rebekah at the Church Office Building. As you can see, Aaron loved his mashed potatoes.

Click on the play button to see a video of Abigail helping make dinner. It's really cute.

Mommy's little helper. As soon as I start making dinner, Abigail is already pulling my apron out of the drawer and then dragging the chair over to the stove. It's really cute.

Abigail loves playing with her cousin Makayla.
Aaron and Abigail love playing outback in the swimming pool. They are little fishes!

Lagoona Beach at the Davis home!

As we were getting the kids ready for bed, Preston caught Aaron making faces in the camera. He was so quick to capture these and I am so glad he did.
I thought this was so cute. I guess you could call this our version of homeschooling. Hee hee
Abigail helped me make Aaron's birthday cake. She is such a good helper.
Growing up, it was always a tradition to let the birthday child lick the bowl and beaters or rubber scraper in this case. It was even more enjoyable when your birthday wasn't the same day as another sibling. Sorry Allison, Rebekah, Michelle and Joshua. hee hee
"Martha Stewart top this!" This is the birthday cake I made for Aaron. It took alot of work and patience keeping Abigail away from the frosting but I enjoyed decorating it. Except it was really disheartening to watch Aaron dig his fingers into. :( He had fun though and that's all that matters.
We combined Aaron's 1st Birthday Party and my parents 45th Wedding Anniversary at my brother Greg's house. We all had tons of fun playing volleyball, jumping on the tramp, and playing our own family version of "Pine-wood Derby Races". My brother-in-law, John, did a great job as the announcer. It was a lot of fun.
Both Aaron and Abigail went for the birthday candle first so I guess the Barlow tradition of letting the child burn their finger on their 1st Birthday has continued in our family.
"Yummy Cake" I think Aaron wore more of it then he ate.
It didn't take long until Aaron had his hands in his cake. He was not shy about making a mess either. Can you believe he ate the entire left side of the cake! J/k He had some help from his cousins.
Aaron loves snuggling up with Great Grandma Johnson. I love that Preston still has Grandparents on both sides of his family for the kids to get to know. Both of my parents are the youngest in their families so I never had the privilege of knowing any of my Great Grandparents.
These are Aaron's new swimtrunks he received from his Aunt Nicole. My kids tend to run a little smaller then their size so it looks like he will have the chance to wear these for a couple of years so they eventually become shorts. Heee hee hee
The kids had fun helping Aaron open up his birthday gifts. I especially enjoyed watching Hunter's reaction to each gift he opened. He was hilarious!
Aaron is making really getting close to walking. He has been crawling up both sets of stairs for a monthy now. He crawls across the floor really fast so I am wondering if he will start running before he walks. That should be fun! (that last statement was said with a lot of sarcasm)
Bath time seems more like pool time since I get just as wet as the kids do.
This is Abigail's version of a drive in movie.

"Howdy Partner!" Grandpa Davis brought his leather had to wear while he worked on the fence, but I think I saw it mor on the kids heads then his own.
"Fill 'er up!" Poor Aaron, he had to pay $3.98 a gallon to fill up his Little Tykes Car. He was lucky he wasn't asked for his driver's license because he left it in his other pair of pants. He had a rough day. Hee heee heee.....
I had to post at least one picture of me so you didn't think I sat around and watched Preston and his Dad do the fence. During the day my job was keeping Aaron content on the kids slide while keeping Abigail from Preston's tools and at night it was drilling all 3 billion screws in the slats. Okay so I exaggerated a little on how many screw there were, but it felt like it took forever since Abigail had to hold the drill.
"High Five!" Abigail loved stealing Papa Davis' gloves. It was really funny watching her wear them as she pushed her pink stroller up and down the driveway.
Once again we have Abigail wanting to help out. By the end of the day, she could pick up a screw, place it on the drill bit and then screw the tip of it into a board. She definitely is our "ToolBelt Diva!"
It took some time to get the posts in but as soon as that was done, the rest was easier. Abigail loved watching Preston use the drill. Every time he set it down, she would run off with it. I was really surprised she could even pick it up since it has to weigh at least half of her.

About 2 weeks ago, Preston's Father came up north for some Teacher's Seminars so he was able to stay a couple of days with us. We really enjoyed having him, especially Abigial. Everyday she would wake up calling "Papa...Papa..." And when he would come home from the Seminar, she would jump up and down yelling, "Papa...Papa...Papa..!" It was really cute. We did make him earn his room and board by putting him to work on our fence. Hee hee hee....It's a good thing we did since he was the only one who knew what he was doing.

The building and setting the gates was a lot easier then we thought. However, we didn't realize that day was hottest day so far this summer. The guys were real troopers though and we were able to make a lot of progress.
