Well, it's been a long time since I've updated the family blog. I have been very busy. It's alreayd hard to find time to update this thing when you have two darling kids who love to do whatever Mom is doing. Then there's the laundry, the housecleaning, the meals, the shopping blah...blah...blah.... J/k I love it but I overwhelmed myself this past month by also taking on the planning of my Ward Christmas Party, the 1st Annual Barlow Relatives Glow-in-the-Dark Dodgeball Game, and to top it all off, I volunteered to watch my sister's 7 kids for a week over Thanksgiving while she went on vacation. Somehow I think I got the short end of that stick. Oh well. I like to help out when I can. So, now that you have the rundown of the latest and the greatest....let's get onto the best part of any blogs...the pictures!!

Preston suprised us with tickets to this year's Disney On Ice show for an early Christmas Gift. We all had a lot of fun. Aaron loved the Finding Nemo part and Abigail was thrilled to see all of the Disney Princess's. My favorite was the Genie from Alladin and the songs from Mulan.

I just have to say to all of you "Team Down South Fans".....GO UTES!!!!!!!! Preston and I are practically the only Ute Fans on both sides of our family. At least the only "vocal" fans on both sides. And each year we watch the "Big Game" at my brother Greg's house. If you can picture the Primary story of "Daniel in the Lions Den", that's pretty much how it is. Our little family all in Red in a sea of Blue. So once again I say, ...."Go Utes" for pulling off the win this year!!
I just have to say, "Isn't he the cutest kid you've ever seen!!!!"

We had a fun time going to the Syracuse City Pumpkin Walk with our friends the Pabst's. The children loved finding all of the Disney theme pumpkins. I wish we could have gotton some pictures of Aaron but he was so busy ooohhing and awwwhing at all of the pumpkins. This will definitely be a must for next year.

I'm not sure what it is with Davis Boys and Peanut Butter. But Aaron is definetely like his father. Preston would seriously put peanutbutter on practically anything if I'd let him. I always knew I married a "NUT"!!!!

The children really love making chalk drawings on the driveway. This year was really nice since it stayed pretty warm outside all the way into November.

Check out Preston on YouTube!!! We we're just in charge of our Ward Christmas Party and we put together this funny skit for the ward.

Abigial loves to do what Mommy and Daddy do. Scary...Huh... Who would want to copy Preston and I. Preston is always squishing bugs with his shoes and of course Abigail loves to watch. So, one day she came screaming, "Mommy...Mommy...look...look..shoe...buggy". Yep, you guessed it. Having already been stung by a bee becuase she tried kicking it. She had learned that just squishing them with her shoe was a lot easier and safer. The excitement in her face says it all. And of course since I take a million pictures of my kids, I couldn't pass up this one.
We had a really fun time with Grandpa and Grandma Barlow when they came up for sunday dinner. I think that is one of the many favorite things I love being able to do now having a house of my own. Always being invited over to dinner at their house is a lot of fun. But when you can reciprocate that love back and have them over to your own house is priceless.
A Face Only a Mother Could Love!!! J/K Aaron cracks me up. He loves to get food everywhere when he eats. If he could reach it, he would get food on the ceiling. Thank heavens for vaulted ceilings.

This is the video I took of Abigial just after I got her calmed down from receiving her first bee sting. I love that she is so dramatic when it comes to sharing her feelings. It's adorable.
Last Saturday we picked up some chinese food at Royal Jade Restaurant. So far it's the best we have found up here in Layton. I guess we didn't put the leftovers up high enough in the fridge that night because Sunday morning, when Preston and I came downstairs, we found this lovely picture. At least the kids had a really yummy breakfast of cold chinese food.

If I have the chance to take a nap I usually wear my eye mask which helps block out all the chores that I still need to do. This sometimes allows me to relax for just a few minutes each day. (emphasis on the sometimes, honestly, how many mothers actually get a nap each day.) However, one afternoon I couldn't find my eye mask. As you can see, Abigail snatched it so her little Doll, that she got from her Aunt Desiree, could take a nap.
I love Aaron so much. He is so adorable. I love how sweet and innocent his face looks before he's about to do anything sneeky. I thought it would be a great idea to let Aaron feed himself. The following pictures show how wrong I was. How is it he can get applesauce everywhere but in his mouth.

Aaron loves to help Daddy with the dishes. Yes, Preston does do the dishes. Thanks to a wonderful Mother-in-law, I have a wonderful husband who doesn't mind helping out with the kitchen, the laundry and even the bathrooms. Sorry girls, he's already taken.
Abigail had a fun time painting Grandma Barlow's toe nails. I love how she holds the nail polish bottle in one hand and the brush in the other. She did a really good job. My Mom didn't seem to care to much, probably becuase the nail polish was all dried up. I didn't have the heart in telling Abigail since she was having so much fun.

For Family Home Evening we washed the cars. The kids had tons of fun. I couldn't keep Aaron away from the bucket the whole time. He is so cute and I love the fact that he's wearing overalls which gives the picture that "huckleberry finn" look.

Of course after washing mommy and daddy's cars, we had to wash Abigial and Aaron's car. It was a lot of work but as you can see it has a wonderful "spit" shine. I am amazed at how much my children learn from what we do. We wash cars, they wash cars. Mommy crosses her legs, Abigail crosses her legs. I know now why we are counseled to be the best examples possible to our children because that truly is the way they learn. This has really helped me to be on my best behavior. Now I make sure I say "I am sorry", "Please", and "Thank You". Oh, and of course....no more "little words" coming out of Princess Potty Mouth.

Like father....like son. Can you see the resemblance?

We all have matching camo shorts for when we go camping, so I couldn't resist getting camo sleeping bags for the kids. Abigail and Aaron loved playing in theirs while we were home but for some reason while we were camping, they kept trying to squeeze into our sleeping bags for the night. Yeah that was fun. (That comment comes will a lot of sarcasm.)

1...2...3....4..Pinned...And the crowd goes wild!!!
Aaron Matthew Davis is officially stronger then his bigger sister.

I thought it would be a good idea to buy a paint set for Abigail. I should have known that more paint would end up on her then on the paper.

I came downstairs and found that Abigial had stripped her diaper and hyer clothes off as well as Aaron's clothes. She had also pulled the chair over to the sink and was filling a little cup up with water and pouring it on Aaron's head. He thought it was hilarious. Never a dull moment here!

Preston thought he would take on Abigial in a water pistol fight. Little did he know that his little girl is related to "Annie Oakley". He didn't stand a chance!!! (Just push play)

Abigail and Aaron loved sharing the beaters to the cookie dough we made. It was really fun to watch them. (Just click on the play button)

For Preston's 29th birthday, his mother made him a 4-layer German Chocolate Cake. He was in heaven and so was Aaron. As you can see, he loved just as much as his Daddy did.
Just to add more spice to my day, Abigail has just learned how to open the fridge. If I don't have the doors tied together, I often find both of them inside. They have a ton of toys to play with, but somehow the fridge is more exciting.
July 4, 2008 will be a day to remember as that was the day Abigail decided to potty train herself and therefore switched from a crib to a toddler bed. Josh and Carlie, this will happen to you guys someday so stop laughing! Hee hee
On July 4, we went to Layton City Park to watch the parade and to also feed the ducks. The ducks were really hungry that morning and were getting to close to comfort for both the kids. In fact, one of the ducks came right up to Abigial and snatched the piece of bread right out of her hand.

That night we went to the Layton City Fireworks. We had tons of fun and only lost Abigail once. Not to bad. Hee hee hee From now on we take glow in the dark sticks with us so she's easier to spot in a crowd. The fireworks were really good and really loud. But we came prepared with earmuffs for Aaron and by the time they were finished they were both asleep.

The kids love feeding bread to the ducks. Or in Abigails case, taunting the ducks with the bread since she never really lets go of it. The ducks were so hungry that morning that they followed us on our walk. Aaron loved it.

I attempted to give Aaron a haircut but that didn't go so well. Luckily for me, Grandma was ready and willing to finish the job. The other day I picked up a nicer pair of hair clippers so it will go faster. I hope to give it a second try this weekend. Wish me luck!
