For our 2nd Christmas together, Preston and I bought Nerf Dart Guns for a "gag" gift for ourselves. I had totally forgotten that we had them until Abigail found them in the game closet. Yes, we love games so we a have a closet dedicated just to them. Keeps us young! Anyhow, I thought it was so funny how quick the kids picked them up and before I knew it they were running around the house shooting darts at each other. But nothing is more fun then hiding behind the fridge to shoot "Mom" when I'm in the kitchen.

The other night, Abigail was just anxious to wear her swimmingsuit. I told her we had to get a new one since the suit from last year didn't fit. Of course since it didn't fit her, she automatically wanted to see if it would fit Aaron. Poor thing didn't have much say to it. Preston about died when he saw Aaron in the lime green swimsuit. He then proceeded to die even more when he notice how happy Aaron was. Mostly becuase we were both laughing so hard. Preston made me swear that if I posted any pictures I had to refer to it as a "wrestling suit". lol

I have such a wonderful husband. Even after a long day at work he still finds time to have a special "play time with Daddy". This night it was time for a mean game of Candyland. We're still not sure who won because Aaron kept moving the game peices all over the board. But it was fun watching them take turns spinning.

Few people will ever understand just how great life is. Many of us get caught up in the day to day hustle and bustle of "life" and we forget to laugh, smile and really let ourselves and our hearts be happy. I am referring to how I feel this moring about my family. I have a great wife who loves me and two great children- each one with their own personality and special light that makes them who they are and gives me a small glimpse into Heavenly Fathers heart as I love and nuture them and understand just what makes them so special.
Just last night I had a fun time laughing and tickling the children. Aaron is so funny and has such a great smile. Abigail too has a funny side. For example: just after returning home from the store, where Paige had purchased some new clothes hampers; one with the Disney Cars logo on it and another with Disneys' Tinkerbell on it. Before we could even tell the children what the clothes hampers were for, they had them over their heads and were running around bumping into each other and laughing histerically. I pause and marvel at the pure laughter of little children and I am again reminded of the beauty of my life. My children really are that glipmse of Heaven that I need to help me remember who I am and who I am becomming. I have the greatest family in the whole world!! (yeah I know I am a bit biased).....Preston

Not so Funny Moment! After the snowsuit incident, the day just got even more hectic. Luckily for me, it was nap time so, after getting my two kids down for naps, I thought it was a perfect time to put a movie on for my niece and nephew and I would hop into the shower. It was really nice to just stand there and let the warm water wash away all of the tension that had built up. However, I think I should have just stayed in the shower for the rest of the day because all of the tension came right back as soon as I came downstairs. I guess while I was in the shower, Abigial had woken up and had pulled one of the diningroom chairs up to the counter, climbed up on the counter and had found a small bag of leftover hershey kisses in the cupboard. I found her down in the familyroom sitting on the couch with my niece just having the time of their lives stuffing their faces with chocolate. There were 20 or so wrappers on the couch and a couple more on the floor, chocolate all over their faces and their clothes not to mention all over the two cushions they were sitting on an a couple more kisses smooshed into the carpet right underneath them. Why is it that kids do things like this? I swear I never did things like this. Okay, so I was probably worse, but still. Isn't life already exciting. And besides, I don't think my husband was planning on using our tax return this year to recarpet the house or get new couches.
Funny Moment. I was babysitting my niece and nephew yesterday. We had tons of fun and having four children under the age of 5 is really good birth control. (Sorry to both sets of Grandparents who are just waiting for another announcement from us.) Anyways, I thought it would be nice to get them all dressed up and go play in the snow. We received about a foot on monday, 5 more inches yesterday so it was perfect. It took me about 30 min. to get us all dressed and ready to go, and I think they lasted only 15 min outside becuase it was so cold. So, to make a this already long post shorter; I spent another 20 min getting everyone undressed and back inside. However, getting my nieces snowsuit off was a different story. Somehow, her zipper handle was broken, and being the good mother that I try to be, I made sure I zipped her coat all the way to the top. Well, the zipper would not unzip. I tried everything from pulling from one side to the other, wax, WD40 and still no luck. I frantically called my mother who gave me even more tips but they didn't work. And my niece must have a larger head then most becuase I couldn't even pull it off without the zipper being undone. Poor thing was so distraut. She thought she would have to wear her coat until her parents came home from their trip. So.........I had reached my last resort......scissors. Yep, you guessed it. I had to cut the zipper off the coat at least 5 inches down just so I could pull it up over her head. Funny moment in an already hectic day. Ain't life grand!!
